IPL 2021 Schedule Time Table: IPL 2021 expected to start on April 11

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 edition is scheduled to begin on April 11 after completing a one-day women's tournament and the Vijay Hazare Trophy if reports are to be believed. As per sources privy to the progress, the final would be held on either June 5 or June 6.

The IPL Board of Governors will make the final decision on the dates. As per an official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the focus has been to give the players enough rest.

India's home series against England is scheduled to get underway on February 5 with the opening Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The series is expected to end on March 28, and if the IPL begins on April 11, it will take the players about two weeks to refresh themselves.

The board is assured of hosting the 2021 edition in India itself, said Arun Dhumal, who is on the IPL GC. The IPL had to be relocated from India to the United Arab Emirates last season (UAE).

The auction for the 2021 IPL is expected to occur after a lot of deliberations in Chennai on February 18. For the upcoming season, the BCCI has been scratching its head ever since the previous edition ended on November 10.

Cricket in India made its return earlier in January with the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy after nearly a year. However, the Ranji Trophy has been scrapped for the current season.
